St. Clair County Malpractice Attorney, Tom Keefe III, Recognized in Field
BELLEVILLE, IL (April 2020) — Keefe, Keefe & Unsell, P.C. is pleased to announce that firm partner Thomas Q. Keefe III has been named the top Emerging Lawyer in the downstate Illinois area by Emerging Lawyers Magazine.
Keefe, a leading personal injury lawyer in Belleville, IL, was featured as the cover story for Emerging Lawyer’s February 2020 edition, was additionally ranked third in the entire state under the same criteria.
Firm partner Samantha Unsell was also selected for the second highest ranking on the downstate list.
Published annually by the Law Bulletin Publishing Company, Emerging Lawyers (and sister publication, Leading Lawyers) is a trusted attorney rating publication that recognizes Illinois’ top young attorneys, as nominated by their peers.
Emerging Lawyers must be 40 or younger, or have been practicing for no more than 10 years, and are “proven to be of exceptional character and ….(have) conveyed outstanding aptitude for the practice of law in the early stage of their career,” according to the publication.
There is no way to buy placement on the list. Instead, attorneys are chosen through a rigorous selection process that starts with annual surveys mailed to all practicing lawyers in the state. The process also includes lengthy discussions with the top lawyers in each area of law, who are familiar with the nominees’ work and record of success.
In total, no more than 2.5 percent of all active attorneys in Illinois earn the Emerging Lawyers distinction.
This is Keefe’s second time being named top Emerging Lawyer on the downstate list. Unsell has also been listed previously, and was profiled in the magazine’s November 2016 edition.
